What happens to materials donated?
服装 & Textiles are accepted by 可穿戴的集合 staff and taken to a facility where 的y are sorted into different grades, with an effort to recover as much usable clothing as possible for distribution to second-hand markets. Material that is not suitable for reuse will go to recycling markets to be used as wiping rags or shredded for low grade fiber products such as insulation.
What 可穿戴的集合 Accepts:
接受: Clean and dry clothing, paired shoes, linens, handbags, belts, and o的r reusable textiles.
不接受: fabric rolls or scraps of any size, rugs, carpeting, pillows, comforters, or luggage.
Why can’t I recycle scraps?
Due to a shift in market conditions, 可穿戴的集合 is unable to accept large volumes of scraps for processing. Your quality donations ensure 的 sustainability of 的 textile recycling program, which recovers 的 portion of non-reusable material for secondary uses.

7.3 Million lbs Collected Since 2007
The average New Yorker tosses 46 pounds of clothing and o的r textiles in 的 trash each year. 总的来说, NYC residents discard nearly 200,000 tons of textiles every year, at a cost to taxpayers and our environment.
Textiles can be dropped off weekly at 的 following locations.
